Eager
When we arrive at eternity’s shore, where death is just a memory and tears are no more, we’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring. Your bride will come together and we’ll sing, “You’re beautiful” -You’re Beautiful by Phil Wickham My heart literally beats faster when I hear this. I get excited and tears fill my eyes. I’m eagerly waiting and longing for the day Jesus...

7 things. Non-negotiable.
We believe in the Trinity. We believe that God came down in human form: Jesus Christ. We believe in the spiritual lostness of the human race. We believe in the substitutionary atonement and resurrection of Jesus. We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in the physical return of Jesus Christ. We believe in the authority and inerrancy of Scripture. 7...

The Coward In The Corner
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. -Genesis 1:3 The very beginning of the Bible, Genesis. These are the first words quoted of God in the Bible. What is he doing? Creating. He is making something. Move on a little bit further. Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now out of the ground the LORD God...

It seems Tebow might help himself and the kingdom by getting off his knees, taking the verses off of his face, and being faithful to Christ without the public acts like all the other Christians in the NFL have done for decades.  -Anthony Bradley, associate professor of theology and ethics at The Kings College. A little bit of my story and knowing Jesus.
I was born in Memphis, TN in 1990. My dad was a medical officer in the military and my mom was licensed in education. We moved around quite a bit. By the time I was 11, we had moved 22 times. When I was in 2nd grade, we settled down in Chattanooga and we’ve been here ever since. When I was 3, I became a big brother. When I was 7, I became a big brother again. When I was 13, I became a big brother...

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37  I love this verse. It is not a verse saying that all things are possible for us with God. This is not a promise that we will always be successful. It is a promise that our God is great. Our God is the God who can make a man out of dust, make water come from rocks, cause a stutterer to lead a nation, and cause a 12 year old...

I love witty people on the internet.
(Conversation in reference to George Lucas changing more things on Star Wars Blu-ray)
Daniel: I don't think anyone is really going to be all that upset about changes to The Phantom Menace. It's like if ten years from now, they decided to put in more monkeys in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Stephen: I don't even remember any monkeys in that movie.
Daniel: If you didn't see them on screen, they were the same ones who banged on typewriters for a month and produced the script.

Atheist Matthew Chapman (the great great grandson of Charles Darwin) has created a new movie from IFC Films called The Ledge. In this movie, the protagonist (an atheist) has an affair with a Christian’s wife. After discovering this and praying to God for strength, the Christian takes his wife hostage and says that unless the atheist throws himself off a building and kills himself, he will...

Do you think we live our lives day to day only for the excitement of tomorrow rather than living in expectation and anticipation of Jesus taking His place on the throne? Do you think if we lived as the latter it would change the way we look at the people around us? What would consume our thoughts if we lived in that anticipation?

A Highway of Holiness
God has really been pushing hard on the topic of holiness with me lately. This call for holiness in the lives of God’s people is commanded throughout Scripture. Sadly, in my own life, it’s one of the most neglected aspects of my walk. I opened my devotional today and this was what it read. “A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of...

One day, things will make sense. One day, my eyes will be able to see the One they were designed to see. One day, my heart will only beat to the rhythm of His love. One day, my mouth will only sing praises to He who is worthy of them all. Until then, I am flawed but holy. A beggar loved by a King. An undeserving prince covered by grace. Until then, I keep tripping over my feet and falling in this...

Hello. It's Been A While.
Let’s jump straight into the heavy stuff shall we? You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more...

The reason millions are deceived by unbiblical teachings is because the unbiblical, blasphemous, and heretical teachings are just a drop of poison surrounded by truth. The reason millions are deceived is because they don’t submerge themselves regularly into the pure truth of God’s Word. They can’t recognize the drop of poison in the water so they drink from it.  Beloved, do not...

Faithful Wounds
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.  -Proverbs 27:6 Jesus never gave relief to people who were under conviction. When Zacchaeus, who was in remorse for his sin, shared his generous plans for restitution, Jesus did not say, “Now Zacchaeus, the important thing is that you feel sorry for what you did.” Jesus brought no comfort to him as he...

Every time I see a person’s profile picture of them kissing someone, and they’re younger than me, I feel like I just looked at an awkward Disney Channel movie poster. There’s just so much wrong with both of them. One of them features a over-photoshopped Miley Cyrus lookalike kissing a guy with way too much hairspray in his hair, and the other is a Disney Channel movie poster.
